How to Get Sweat Stain Out of Car Seat

posted on November 13, 2021

Have you ever found a sweat stain on your car seat? It can be difficult to get out, but this blog post will show you how! We’ll walk through all the steps that are involved in removing these stains. You don’t have to live with those embarrassing marks forever!

Blot the Stain with a Paper Towel

The first thing to do is blot up as much of the sweat as possible. If you’re working on removing stains from your car seat, then there’s probably going to be quite a bit of moisture involved. Make sure that you get it all out before moving on to the next step. If there is any more moisture after blotting, you can use a towel.

Use Some Dish Soap

Once all of the sweat has been removed from your car seat, it’s time to move on! The second thing is to add a little bit of dish soap to the area where you’ve found a sweat stain. Don’t use too much soap because you don’t want any suds to form! You can rub this into the fabric and then let it sit for about 30 minutes before washing as normal.

Launder Your Car Seat

After letting the dish soap sit for about 30 minutes, it’s time to wash your car seat. Ensure you use cold water and not hot. You don’t want any bleaching or shrinking of the fabric! Add some laundry detergent as well. This can be used as a pre-treatment for stains, which will make the process much faster!

Dry Your Car Seat

Pay extra attention when drying any type of fabric upholstery. You want it to be completely dry before putting anything back onto the car seat! Use a low setting on your dryer, especially if this is something like leather or vinyl because higher temperatures can cause damage.

Conclusion

Don’t try to force stains out or use some sort of harsh chemical! This could end up damaging your car seat even more. Follow these instructions carefully and if anything seems unclear, feel free to reach out for help!
