Cars with automatic transmission
When you put your car in reverse while driving an automatic transmission car, it will not show going into reverse. The car will not move forward or backward, as if it’s still in the park. Some automatic transmission cars require you to use a parking brake to be placed before putting it into gear and driving. But you can always put your car in reverse while driving, but it won’t show until you press the brakes to stop the car from moving.
Cars With Manual Transmission
Cars with manual transmission allow you to drive in reverse even while driving forward. But cars with manual transmission require you to use the clutch to shift into gear before moving. To do this, place your car into neutral by using the clutch and then turning on your hazard lights for safety purposes. Then, use your elbow to push the clutch to the floor and shift into gear. To move your car backward, use your right hand to press down on the right side of the clutch while using your left hand to turn your steering wheel left or right. To move your car forward, do the opposite by using your left hand to push down on the left side of the clutch while using your right hand to turn the steering wheel left or right
